Negotiating directly with a landlord and/or his broker - they are not representing tenants’ interests (they are working against you, not for you). Work with a broker who has your back, provides you with the information you need, and knows how to get you the best deal. You are at a huge disadvantage in a negotiation without the market knowledge, industry relationships, and understanding of lease terms that an experienced Tenant Rep broker brings to the table. Crafting an initial offer (Letter of Intent) with a strategy in mind is critical in setting the stage to negotiate terms that work for you.
